Pe is nominated in the BAFTA longlist twice for leading actress for Elegy and supporting for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Furthermore Vicky is up for original screenplay, Hall & Johansson for leading actress, Bardem for leading actor.

The BAFTA longlists include 15 contenders in each category, from which the five nominees will be chosen in the second round of voting. Once the nominees are finalized, the whole membership votes again to decide the best film, four acting prizes and film not in the English language. In all remaining categories, the members of each chapter (or jury) determine the vote.

The awards will take place Feb. 8 at London’s Royal Opera House.




Penélope Cruz glows at the 2008 New York Film Critic’s Circle Awards at Strata on Monday in New York City.

The 34-year-old actress won for Best Supporting Actress in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

DVD Times and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Elegy on 17th March 2009. Walt Disney Pictures has revealed the new teaser trailer for the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced 3D adventure comedy G-Force on the company’s official website.

Opening July 24, 2009, G-Force is about the latest evolution of a covert government program to train animals to work in espionage. Armed with the latest high-tech spy equipment, these highly trained guinea pigs discover that the fate of the world is in their paws. Tapped for the G-Force are guinea pigs Darwin (voice of Sam Rockwell), the squad leader determined to succeed at all costs; Blaster (voice of Tracy Morgan), an outrageous weapons expert with tons of attitude and a love for all things extreme; and Juarez (voice of Penelope Cruz), a sexy martial arts pro; plus the literal fly-on-the-wall reconnaissance expert, Mooch, and a star-nosed mole, Speckles (voice of Nicolas Cage), the computer and information specialist.

Fitting in a little promotional work in between filming, Penelope Cruz attended a special hosted screening of Vicky Christina Barcelona held at the Mayfair Hotel in London, England on Wednesday evening (December 17).

Accompanied by co-star Rebecca Hall, the duo posed for pictures before making their way into the theater for the showing of the Woody Allen directed drama.
